I think most people “accidentally” find themselves in this situation. But you are correct, some people know that it’s over in their mind but just want to keep hanging with you until they find someone else so that they don’t have to be alone or keep getting certain benefits.

The main thing that should be maintained throughout the relationship is HONESTY! If people are honest with each other at all times, the need to test the waters, see other people, begin swinging, ending the relationship, etc then there would be no safety net break-up, comfort situations built off of old love or anything in-between. Just begin with honesty, maintain your honesty, and the way the relation progresses or ends will remain honest.

I feel like up until very recently that I was an actual victim of the comfort side of things. The love for this person was outgrown or just gone for quite some time but rather than be honest with me and give me the option to walk away, the pretend game was played for fear of not finding someone else. At the present the relationship aspect has been ended but I definitely feel like people make the mistake of getting too comfortable in a situation and just play the waiting game. It is a dishonest practice and just another excuse to eventually do what you ultimately want to do when another person comes along.

No less, some perceptions are plain stupid…you can’s show a big double D breast and then think because you cover a half an inch of nipple that you’re preserving “dignity”…Just like you can’t show an entire pubic area, sometimes with hair and lips, along with a booty and then think because you’re wearing a thong, you’re “preserving” your goods. It just doesn’t exist…like I said, the only reasons for this absurdity is that you’re trying to get a certain range of ratings past someone or reach a variable market but as far as “dignity”…PLEASE!!!

I guess the whole nipple thing was something that was subconsciously implanted into our minds. I’m not sure who made the rule, but now that I’m thinking about it, it is kind of silly. Nevertheless, “obooy2003″ sounds like a perv… like most guys are haha! Guys just want a reason to be perverted voyeurs. Boobs are really overrated anyways. Some people in Africa just walk around with their breast hanging out and it’s not big deal. If people want to cover certain things and think that they are preserving dignity then let them. It’s all about perception.

You actually have a very good point, at least for most of it. I have some key issues, however with the statement that make logical/technical people seem as though they are drones with no originality in thought or action. I think we’d have a hard time telling software developers, architects, programmers, etc. that they only do what’s been “proven” to work and that they merely copy what others have done.

On to more important things, however:

Not all, but many technical people seem boring and cowardly to me; how easy is it to follow something that?s already been proven to work?

Maybe I’m wrong here but, can you really get mad at someone for doing what’s been proven to work? Then again, that’s logic and if you don’t agree with it or choose to follow it, I guess it doesn’t matter…

Other than those two issues, everything else seems to make sense…A bit of a note though, I think some people try to stick defiantly to logic, even in “normal conversation”, is because people or some people are plagued with changing stories, lying, and going back on their word. To these certain people, they never want to be held responsible for what they say so they like to play down any confining statements made by themselves. As a result, they need to be addressed in a court-style way. That way, they’re forced to keep a value of a statement that they can’t later say, “Oh, but I didn’t really mean it like that”.

Personally, I choose to talk to people logically without any home-style syntactical mishaps when I know them to be shady talkers. They bounce around too much and never mean anything (if it happens to be wrong, stupid, or unlikeable). They like to have double meanings just in case they have to change what they said. After observing this type of behavior, it’s no wonder why this is used in the justice system and why some people have to resort to it for specified individuals. Otherwise, though, you make a very good point!
